The McCaffrey project we produced for Big Sky Home builders is still under construction and we are excited to see the final home all finished up. For all our projects, we will be posting photos of the construction process before and after.
This project included many different finishes with both our [ chatsubu ] chagrain Shou Sugi ban and natural reclaimed barn wood materials.
We have a resource for a large amount of recycled barn wood materials as well as a friend who purchased some property in Big Sky Canyon, close to the whiskey ridge area. He hired a logging company to salvage all the Doug fir in area of where he is building his future home and they milled it all down into rough materials.
We brought down to Big Timberworks and had them mill it into some Fineline shiplap siding for this project as well as a trailer load of the barnwood to mill into the same size.

The lighter tone wood under the soffit of the home is the clean plained barn wood which we applied our finish w/ some UV protectant as well.
We have found that we are not only producing Shou Sugi ban in large production, but have also started to produce other siding materials to go with the SSB, so our clients can just deal with one company to produce all their siding materials in one location.

Right under the soffit is the first color of chatsubu or Shou Sugi ban material which we applied a custom brown stain mixture including our exterior uv finish. This is custom color we call "
MUD" Two coats on front and we generally spray the backs giving all our siding materials full 360 coverage.
